Croatia is a beautiful country where the Mediterranean, Alps and the Pannonian Plain meet. There are thick forests, underground streams and the translucent sea together with the largest archipelago in the Mediterranean.

NB. whilst Croatia is currently at peace, travel to the Slavonia and Krajina regions is still dangerous due to unexploded mines.

Foreigners are required to register with the police upon first arriving in the country, though hotels, campsites and accommodation agencies should do this for you. Failure to register has led to exclusion and fines and police can spot check foreigners anywhere. That said, crime (especially violent crime) is low.
