The Kingdom of Cambodia was at the centre of the Khmer empire between 800 & 1400AD. As a result, it has some of the most impressive temples in southeast Asia.

80% of the tourists visitng Cambodia come from USA, and in recent years it has attracted the more adventurous independent travellers. Once the political situation in the country stabilises (since the Khmer Rouge have relinquished control of the area in the mid 1980s), Cambodia could have the potential to develop a serious tourist industry.
